Tony’s Take on TV Vs Youtube

By 300LevelSports

I remember as a kid we had 5 channels to choose from on TV then we later got cable and eventually a satellite dish and I thought this was going to be great, I’ll never run out of programs to watch well that feeling didn’t last long as I realized that most of it was garbage and not worth watching, fast forward to today and I have noticed that YouTube is putting out more entertaining content than television.

A few years ago I was stuck home recovering from multiple surgeries and got into watching what my kids were watching, first my daughter getting into a vlog by Shawn Duras about his daughter Adley, it’s cute and a fun way to pass the time then my son got me into “ Dude Perfect” a bunch of buddies from Texas A&M that made fame by posting trick shot videos now that are now one of YouTubes biggest draw, wholesome programing for the family to enjoy I’ve also discovered car themed videos such as “Roadkill” two editors from Hot Rod magazine having fun building cars and going on road trips while constantly fixing their cars during the trip.

If you’re a football fan may I suggest “Grid Iron Heights” an animated show making fun of things going on in the NFL. I have to say my favorite might be Tom Grossi a New York comedian who hosts his own Packer nation program, but as he says “you don’t have to be a Packer fan but it helps” Tom plays multiple characters including Fredrick who is a Buffalo Bills fan, Tom is funny and entertaining. It may be only a matter of time before YouTube passes network TV in viewership, in fact I think it may have already happened.

Tony’s Take on the Buffalo Bills

By 300LevelSports

I remember growing up a Bills fan, every year I would predict them to go to the playoffs then in 1980 I remember how bad I took the loss in the playoffs then again the following year. In 1988 the Bills lost to the Bengals in the AFC championship game that game hurt but not as much as it did when I was younger now that could be the beginning of being a conditioned Bills fan, we grew use to the wheels on the bus falling off, same with the 4 Super Bowl losses.
Last night they lost to the Chiefs in the AFC championship game and all the memories of me as a kid came back and this time I had to deal with a 13 year old son going through the heartbreak, I explained that this is what it’s like being a fan, I explained to him that this isn’t the last time he will see them play in a championship game they have the look of a team that will be a playoff contender for years to come and I think after our conversation I got the feeling that he understood and he excepted what happened. The one thing about being a Bills fan and being a father I get to hand down my experiences of being a fan to my son and watching him soak it all in. One silver lining in a dark cloud is that this team may have opened up a lot of kids to become Bills fans. Go Bills, see you next season.

Tony Talks Classic Cars

By 300LevelSports

My last edition I talked about investing in classic cars as a way to grow money for the future. I am a huge car fanatic and have been since I was 3 falling in love with my father’s 65 GTO and I have been following cars ever since. We know from watching Mecum and Barrett Jackson that cars are big business. You need to be smart when buying a classic so here are some tips on what to look for:

First the car must pass the eye test, does it look clean and well taken care of, and are the body lines straight? Look at the gaps between the doors, hood and trunk, if the gaps are wide or too narrow if that is the case you might want to have someone look at the frame to make sure it is straight. The biggest question will be do the numbers match? This is important to collectors and can determine the true value of the car, if the numbers on the engine don’t match the car’s body the value goes down on the flip side if they do match the value goes up especially if it is a rare car.

The key is finding something that has market value and you’re not making emotional decision, there are plenty of publications and on line resources Available to help you make the right choice. Just as important it is to find the right car you have to find the right people to restore your project and please be careful of BS artists, find people who have had their cars done by said garage make sure they have good reviews. Let’s say you find a car that needs work before you can sell it, a rusted out body with nothing much else could cost around 100 grand to restore so keep in mind the money that it will take to sell and how long it will take, some cars depending on age can take more than a year to restore, if a car is old or rare it will cost more because parts are hard to find. I think you will find this to be more fun than investing in stocks, good luck.
